Technological Advances Keeping Us Fit and Healthy
Recent surveys in Europe and elsewhere show that increasingly more people care about their dietary habits and their overall health status than in the past. Women have again been the pioneers in that. However, even though people claim that they intend to eat healthier and exercise more, the reality shows that they just want everything to be easier, because they lack time.
Hence, over the years an incredibly large quantity of dietary supplements, vitamins and nutrient enriched foods that are basically known as functional foods have become readily available.
Each of these foods contains a few, or even just one of the thousands of components we would normally consume as part of our normal everyday diet. Technology has managed to isolate the necessary compounds from foods or create artificial and synthetic copies of these compounds that we usually find in our food. The companies that sell them promote them and use as supplements, or even as medication for people who do not follow a regular dietary regime.
Women are particularly susceptible to the literature that accompanies these items. Indeed, it can be very persuasive and very convincing, but consumers tend to forget that these products do not offer the best solution for those who indeed want to stay healthy and fit.
These compounds can be a natural and safe alternative to drug use, for men and women who suffer from some disease, and they are a definitely easier option compared to cook foods. However, staying healthy and fit means to change dietary habits and adopt an overall lifestyle that can indeed make a difference. Eating good bits added to foods we tend to prepare or like more means that we do not want to change our lifestyle and our habits.
Women, are in general the ones who set the tone to the dietary habits in a household, are supposed to convince themselves and the other members of their family to accept a different eating lifestyle, including the actual foods rather than the supplements or substitutes of these foods.
Women and men of all ages should soon understand that most of us live under truly unhealthy conditions. Most of us live in the big cities, consuming commercially processed foods, we breathe polluted air, and we are subjects to all kinds of rays from satellites, cell phone antennas and wireless machines.
All these things endanger our cardiovascular system and our brain, shortening our life. Therefore, eating properly and exercising are the two basic allies we have if we want to be and feel better, resisting to the overall endangering conditions of our life.
Despite all of the literature coming with the various supplements, the only proven and effective way to be healthy and fit is to eat properly, sleep well and exercise regularly.
